ACP, DipROM

Jonathon MacKay, Papua New Guinea

End of Watch: January 24th, 2023

Jonathon started in EMS in early 2000 starting out as a P1 Paramedic with EHSNS and shortly after becoming an Emergency Medical Dispatcher and working with the EHSNS Ambulance Communications Centre.

A life long adventurer, Jonathon was drawn to non-traditional paramedic roles. After becoming an ACP in 2007 Jonathon pursued his dream of becoming a remote site paramedic. Since those early remote jobs, Jonathon had the privilege of working air, land and sea roles in some very interesting and remote places. Along the way he picked up a certificate in Occupational Health and Safety and a post grad diploma in Remote and Offshore Medicine from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

Jonathon faced his own challenges staying mentally healthy in his career as a Paramedic and was an ardent supporter of mental health supports for First Responders (and every human being).
